It's going to be a week for wacky news.
A six year old child performed on a game show. Somehow this led to sponsors stopping their endorsement and national boycotts.
I'm looking for video.
Here's the article.

It certainly doesn't help that I can't understand them. Watching body image, I can see people being upset that the child looks unhappy. More accurately, I think he looks nervous with stage fright. The lights are brighter than he's probably used to, cameras everywhere, and a stadium full of people looking at him and laughing. That will mess anyone up. His guardian was there, smiling and laughing. The host seems to encourage him and seemed to be kind. When the child was tired, he ran TO THE HOST, who danced with him.
The show is pretty vapid, from what I could see. It's a lot like Japanese tv shows. There was singing and dancing, from eps I sat through looking for this, and people sang and danced when the co-hosts approached them. They received gift bags, confetti dropped from the catwalk, and almost everyone seemed to be having a good time. The child was certainly not brought into this as a "freak show" or a special guest.
I feel like I'm missing a piece of the puzzle and am curious about your reactions!
